Happy Leap Day

Hey ya'll. I just wanted to jump over here real quick and wish everyone a Happy Leap Day. It's not a major holiday, nobody's gonna be baking cookies or putting together a big family dinner over it, but what the heck.

For anyone out there who was born on the 29th of Feb., I wish you a Happy Birthday. How cool would it be to be one of the Leap Babies. LOL I always felt kind of sorry for the kids who were born on Leap Day, but now that I'm getting older, I think it would be awesome to only celebrate my birthday every 4 years.

Everybody have a great day, and if you're feeling froggy, just Leap!!!!!

Domain Registration Site for Australians

Since I bought my very first domain name, I’ve found that not all purchasing sites are the same. Some are built more for hosting than for domains, some are full service websites that meet every aspect of a webmaster’s needs, and some are designed for a specific region or country. Payless Domains is one such site.

This domain registration site is one of Australia’s favorites. Not only do they offer inexpensive domain names, they also offer email hosting, URL forwarding, domain name parking, and much more; all at no extra cost. Choose from .com.au, .com, .net names.

Payless Domains hosting services offers 4 different levels, ranging from 1 GB of space up to 4 GB of space. This gives everyone a chance to establish themselves online. All pricing on this site is AUD, unless otherwise specified.

One thing of note about this site is how easy it is to use. As I went through the site, I found everything I was looking for in a matter of seconds. That’s something I always look for in any site. They place their pricing guide link at the top of the page where it’s easy to get to, they make it easy to register, and they tell you up front exactly what you’re going to get.

Bragging about my other kid

It's time I bragged about my other kid for a change. As anyone who's ever read anything over here, you often read about my son the stud-muffin wrestler. This time, I have to brag about my wanna-be-a-supermodel teenaged daughter.

Our school put on a regional choir competition today and both of my kids were in it, in different choirs. Stud-Muffin is in the top choir, made for juniors and seniors. However, my daughter is in the jr. high choir, which is like competition basic training. Well, jr. high choir was first ones on the stage this morning and they looked so cool.

As they began singing, you could tell that as a group they're still working on getting the dance steps in time, trying to concentrate on the words and moves instead of playing to the audience, and let's face it, they're all still a little clumsy. However, as the song progressed, one beautiful voice stepped out from the muddled mass of barely audible whispers. My daughter sang the song perfectly, did her best to put all she had into the dance steps (but no, she wasn't completely perfect in that), and smiled like she'd been doing this her whole life. I was so proud of my little girl that I clapped louder than anyone else in the room.

I've always been proud of both of my kids, but it seems that I've spent way more time bragging about my son's achievements than my daughter's. She's not athletic in any sense of the word. She got bored with Girl Scouts pretty early on. And her idea of getting exercise entails several laps around the mall. So, to know that she's going to excel in this singing thing gives me great joy. Who knows, maybe she'll be the next American Idol. Naw, knowing her personality, she'll be the next WWE Women's Champion.

I'm beginning to get wrinkles

As I get older, I’m finding that I’m beginning to notice the little wrinkles and laugh lines that are forming on my face. I’m not one of those people who get all uptight about such things, but they are beginning to bother me a little bit.

I found a site called Skin RX Clinic Amazing Skin Care, that helps women with their skin issues. They carry a great line of anti-aging creams and other products that can keep the signs of aging at a minimum, and in some cases even reverse these signs.

In the sidebar of their homepage is a list of various skin problems to choose from. You just click on the problem, which in my case is wrinkles, and they show you a variety of products that will help with the problem. I was amazed at the fact that their prices aren’t that bad, depending on what the affliction is and which remedy you choose.

One thing I did find appealing about this site is that they will tell you exactly what is in their products, and what it does. They have a whole list of various ingredients and what their functions are with skin care.
They also offer a toll-free number you can call if you’d like to speak with a licensed esthetician, who will help you decide on which product and treatment is right for you. And finally, they will ship your products overnight, so you can start looking and feeling better right away.

I am such an old hippie

I've been sitting here all night, getting my posts done at all my other blogs and listening to all my favorite tunes I've got saved on my puter. As one song blends into the next, it dawned on me that the music I listen to is almost 30 years old. OMG, I'm so old.

In my opinion, they quit making good music in the mid 80's. My favorite tunes all come from the mid to late 70's and some from the early 80's. And yes, I know that's telling the world just how old I really am, but I've always had a thing for the music of the mid to late 70's. I'm the youngest of 3 girls, and I had a bad habit of stealing their records when I was a kid. LOL

I was listening to some of the things my kids listen to, and heard my father's voice come out of my face in the form of "you can't understand a word they're saying". I remember the first time my mom heard the song "Dirty Laundry" by Don Henley. She freaked. She couldn't believe that they were so hard up for songs that they were talking about playing with someone's dirty laundry. LOLOLOLOL

Oh well, I guess I'll just live in the past and revel in my music. So while you're all reading this post, I'll be shaking my groove thing and partying like it's 1999.

SignTheGoogleGuestBook-Christine Was Here

Ok kids, this is kind of a cool blog meme that has nothing at all to do with link baiting, or link swapping, or anything of the sort. This is a search engine friendly meme called Sign the Google Guest Book.

A friend of mine noticed that when you typed the words "Sign the Google Guest Book" into Google, it showed absolutely no pages what so ever. Well, we've decided to change that. There are a couple of rules to this meme, but nothing to extreme.

First of all, create a your title like I've done with mine. Start it out with Sign The google guest book, but make sure it's all one word, then a hyphen, the "You" was here. And of course you put your own name or net name in that space.

The contest of the post really doesn't matter, but it would be a good idea to tell your readers what we're doing and how to play the game. Remember, we're not out for incoming or outgoing links, we're after SERPs.

After you've written your post, leave a comment and we'll all run around and Digg and Stumble each others pages. Let's see just how many of us can get our names up there on this poor empty page.

Here is the target SERP url:
http://www.google.com/search?q=SignTheGoogleGuestBook

The original meme post:
http://www.blogtheinternet.com/signthegoogleguestbook.html

The original Digg url:
http://digg.com/odd_stuff/SignTheGoogleGuestBook

The original StumbleIt url:
http://www.stumbleupon.com/url/www.blogtheinternet.com/signthegoogleguestbook.html

Have fun and remember to let me know who's playing along. Good luck and Happy SERPing.

Me and My Drum Birthday Contest

Hey everyone, I had to come over here and let everyone know that my buddy Mark over at MeandMyDrum.com is getting ready to celebrate his blog's first birthday. He's holding a contest between now and the 20th of February, where one lucky winner will win 1,000 Entrecard entries and a review on Mark's blog.

Now, there are a few of us in the blog-o-sphere that aren't members of this new craze known as Entrecard, so I asked Mark what was in it for us. And being the cool guy that he is, Mark has decided that if the winner of the contest isn't a member of Entrecard, he will donate the entries to the charity of the winners choice. I think that's pretty cool. Plus, you'll still get your blog reviewed on his site.

There are several ways to enter the contest, but I suggest you check them all out for yourself at Mark's blog. Mark will choose a winner on the 20th, so you better get your entries in while you can. Then, come the 20th, we can all head over to MeandMyDrum.com and tell Mark, "Happy Birthday"!!!!!!

Nearly back to normal

Well, another month has come and gone since my last post. This year is already going by way too fast. However, things are starting to settle down around here. Wrestling season is officially over and I can get back to my blogging world.

As much as I love to watch my son wrestle, I was really glad to see it end. We've been doing this since the end of November, and I was really getting tired of running all over the countryside just to watch my kid go to war with other kids. I'm one of those moms that screams her head off during every match my kid is in, and it's all I can do to keep from slapping the snot out of a few of the other parents.

I almost had to beat up a dad this last match. Not because of what he was yelling at his kid, or mine for that matter, but because of the fact that he sat down next to my daughter and nearly punched her in the face. He was one of those dads that really gets into the match and was flailing his arms and legs all over the place. On more than one occasion, he almost elbowed my daughter and once, he actually kicked her. That's when I'd had enough. I physically moved my child out of the way and sat down next to the guy. In a very loud voice I announced "I can fight back". The next thing I knew, he up and moved.

The moms that were sitting behind me just laughed and patted me on the back. This dude was huge. I'll bet he weighed at least 300 lbs. I didn't care, I was gonna take him on in defense of my little girl. Hell hath no fury like a pissed of mommy.

Anyway, now that things are starting to get back to normal, I'll be posting here a lot more often. It will be a lot easier with my head in this game, instead of the one at the school. LOL
