Profitale $25 contest

Hey ya'll, had to come in and tell you about another blogging contest going on out there in the blogosphere. This one is being put on by Profitale.com, and there's cold hard cash involved. LOL

Here's the scoop:
1st place winner will get $25 cash sent to their paypal account, or they can have one of the other prizes if they aren't into the money.
2nd place winner will get a free 125x125 banner on the site for one month.
3rd place winner will a link in any of the articles on the site that will point to a similar article on that person's site.
4th, 5th, and 6th place winners will get a link on the site's blogroll.

Ok, so now you know what the prizes are, but how do you get in on these prizes? Well, that's the easy part. First of all, subscribing to the site's RSS feed via email will get you one point. Leaving a comment on the contest post or any post published before that one, will get you one point. And finally, writing about the contest on your own site will get you 2 points. It's that easy.

This contest will run through September 21st, 2008. Now is the best time to get into the party and try to win yourself that $25 cash.

Good Luck.

College Football Time Again

I'm so excited that college football is here once again. And this year is going to be very exciting as the Nebraska Cornhuskers have a new head coach. Hopefully, the Cornhuskers will get back to playing football like they did when Tom Osborne was coaching. I'd like to see the new coach, Bo Pelini, bring some fresh ideas to the game, but it's time to bring back the glory days of the Huskers defense.

The one thing I am hoping for is that the media allows Bo Pelini a chance to really work with his team. He is going to be scrutinized from the first game on, as to whether or not he was the best man for the job. I, for one, think it's going to take a while for the whole team to get back to where they were before Bill Calahan took over.

The first game of the season will be on Saturday. I won't get to watch it, as it's on Pay-Per-View, but being right here in the state of Nebraska, I'll be listening to it on the radio. Sometimes, that's more entertaining. So, here's to a new season of Husker football and better year for the team.

Blog Like A Rock Star

It's been a long time since I blogged about a contest, but I've found one I've got to talk about. Not because the prizes are so astronomical (but they are cool), but just because of the name of the site hosting the contest. I'm talking about a site called RockStarTemplate.com. I always wanted to be a rock star, but this is as close as I'm ever going to get.

Ok, so let me tell you about this contest. This is RockStarTemplate's first contest, and they are giving away some pretty cool items, er, packages. I say that because there will be 3 top winners, who will be getting more than just 1 thing each.

First of all, the 1st place winner will be getting a gift voucher from Amazon.com worth $50, $20 worth of banner advertising on the site, $15 cash sent to their paypal account, a link to a PR4 website worth $15, and a personal review of their site.

The 2nd place winner will be getting the link to the PR4 website, the $20 worth of banner advertising on RockStarTemplate.com, and $25 cash sent to their paypal account.

And finally, the 3rd place winner will be getting the link on the PR4 website and 1000 Entrecard credits. Plus, everyone who enters this contest will have their link put on the RockStarTemplate site for one full month.

For more information, I suggest you check out all the contest details for yourself, just to make sure you get in all the points you can. This contest will run through September 25th, and the winners will be announced on the 26th.

They Grow Up Too Fast

Well, it's almost time to send the kiddies back to school. I can't believe that it's that time of year again already. Seems like we just started summer vacation and it's over already. Time really does fly the older you get.

This is my last year of having 2 kids in school. I'm both excited, and saddened at the same time. But, now I'll be able to focus on my daughter who made the cheerleading squad this year. I'm so proud. I was never a cheerleader, I was one of the girls who taunted cheerleaders, and now my baby is one. Talk about irony.

For those of you out there who have small children in your home, relish the time you have with them. My mother and mother-in-law always told me that the time you have with them goes by way too fast, and they were so right. It's gone by way too fast.

If you're getting ready to send you baby off to school for the first time, take as many pictures as you can. The next thing you know is that they're all grown up and getting ready to leave home. Do whatever you can to walk along the journey with them, I promise that you will never regret it.

When Reality Gets In The Way

Peek-a-Boo. Haha, thought I'd done run off for good, didn't you? Well, I tried, but they found me and dragged me back kicking and screaming. LOL. No, not really. However, I have been running all over creation for the past few weeks.

First of all, my son earned the rest of his required badges for Boy Scouts, and has just had his Eagle Scout Project approved by the big wigs, so now all we have to do is complete the project, tie up some loose ends, and wait for the man in charge to hold his Eagle Scout Board of Review on my son. And you want to know what the worst part about that is??? I won't be allowed in the room, or anywhere around the place, until the BOR is over. I'm totally wigging out here.

But, I have faith in my kid. He's basically a good kid, but he's a typical teenaged boy, and can be a major pain in the......anyway.

Then, my hubby and I took the kids to their aunt's house and took off for a few days. Just the two of us. We had a blast. We went up to the mountains of Colorado and played in a few of the casinos up there. I didn't do so well, but the hubby made up for it. Basically, I put $30 in the slot machines and won a dollar. He put in a dollar and won $30. I told him to give me back my money, but he just laughed and took me out for lunch. What a guy!!!

We played around in Denver for most of the trip. I'm not much for the big city, but we did have fun. In fact, the first night we were there, we got lost. We decided that we wanted something from Dairy Queen and figured we'd find one pretty close to where we were staying. But, noooooo. We drive all over creation for a couple hours and can't find so much as a Sonic. We found a Baskin/Robins, but they were already closed. We were pissed.

Then, the next morning, we went to have breakfast and found out that we had passed a Dairy Queen and 2 Sonics during our night out. Why??? Because they were behind bigger shops and in the corners of shopping centers. Just my luck.

But, it's time to get everything back to normal. School starts next week and we'll start in on our annual routine. This is the last year I'll be working with 2 teenagers. My son, (if all goes as planned) will be graduating in May. He's planning on taking the summer off to work at a Boy Scout Camp, then he's off to the Navy.

After he's gone, I'll be down to one kid. A teenaged daughter, or as I like to call her, Hell on Wheels. Don't get me wrong, I love my baby girl. But she's so much like me that I am scared to death. I was the wild child in my family, and I can see the same thoughts going through her head. She's a handful, to say the least.

Well, that's why I haven't posted for so long. I promise to try and keep up a little better around here. I just have to figure out how to add about 4 more hours to each day, and then I might have enough time for all the crap I have to do. LOL
