Peek-a-Boo. Haha, thought I'd done run off for good, didn't you? Well, I tried, but they found me and dragged me back kicking and screaming. LOL. No, not really. However, I have been running all over creation for the past few weeks.
First of all, my son earned the rest of his required badges for Boy Scouts, and has just had his Eagle Scout Project approved by the big wigs, so now all we have to do is complete the project, tie up some loose ends, and wait for the man in charge to hold his Eagle Scout Board of Review on my son. And you want to know what the worst part about that is??? I won't be allowed in the room, or anywhere around the place, until the BOR is over. I'm totally wigging out here.
But, I have faith in my kid. He's basically a good kid, but he's a typical teenaged boy, and can be a major pain in the......anyway.
Then, my hubby and I took the kids to their aunt's house and took off for a few days. Just the two of us. We had a blast. We went up to the mountains of Colorado and played in a few of the casinos up there. I didn't do so well, but the hubby made up for it. Basically, I put $30 in the slot machines and won a dollar. He put in a dollar and won $30. I told him to give me back my money, but he just laughed and took me out for lunch. What a guy!!!
We played around in Denver for most of the trip. I'm not much for the big city, but we did have fun. In fact, the first night we were there, we got lost. We decided that we wanted something from Dairy Queen and figured we'd find one pretty close to where we were staying. But, noooooo. We drive all over creation for a couple hours and can't find so much as a Sonic. We found a Baskin/Robins, but they were already closed. We were pissed.
Then, the next morning, we went to have breakfast and found out that we had passed a Dairy Queen and 2 Sonics during our night out. Why??? Because they were behind bigger shops and in the corners of shopping centers. Just my luck.
But, it's time to get everything back to normal. School starts next week and we'll start in on our annual routine. This is the last year I'll be working with 2 teenagers. My son, (if all goes as planned) will be graduating in May. He's planning on taking the summer off to work at a Boy Scout Camp, then he's off to the Navy.
After he's gone, I'll be down to one kid. A teenaged daughter, or as I like to call her, Hell on Wheels. Don't get me wrong, I love my baby girl. But she's so much like me that I am scared to death. I was the wild child in my family, and I can see the same thoughts going through her head. She's a handful, to say the least.
Well, that's why I haven't posted for so long. I promise to try and keep up a little better around here. I just have to figure out how to add about 4 more hours to each day, and then I might have enough time for all the crap I have to do. LOL
