Daddy's Lilies

This is a picture of my Daddy's Lilies.

My dad passed away 2 years ago and this was one of the plants that had been sent to the funeral home. I later found out that it was sent by my best friend, so my mom decided that I should take it home.

I planted it in my front flower bed, but it quickly withered to almost nothing. I hoped for the best, but last year, it didn't do anything. I thought it had decided to go be with my dad in that big flower bed in the sky.

This spring, while getting all the dead things out of the flower beds, I noticed that it was coming up again. I didn't get my hopes up, but was happy to see that it was going to give it one more chance. I was thrilled to see that it not only tried again, but it flourished. Then today, it finally bloomed.

I had to post this picture as it is a testament to the fact that things can always turn out for the better if you only give it a chance.
